So I upgraded my Rev A to a Photofast 1.8 128GB ZIF from DVNation (quick ship, wish it came with a screwdriver but still overall easy transaction)

ran XBench and hmmmm seems off.... checked scores and it seems VERY low......

I have to bring it back to get the sound fixed (forget what that parts called.....)

the Disk Test is what seems to has brought things down but am I reading this wrong?

It could be noise made by a capacitor. I've had several Apple laptops that suffered from such a noisy, faulty component. Quite annoying if that's the case and you' re right to have the ssd replaced over this.

Those Xbench results are disappointing indeed, maybe this ssd is defect somehow.

It does seem a bit low.

As a point of reference, here's an XBench from my Rev. A 1.6, 80GB HDD 4200rpm results:

    Disk Test 20.43
    Sequential 33.65
    Uncached Write 36.33 22.31 MB/sec [4K blocks]

    It might be correct.

Here are my Rev. A 1.8ghz with 64gb (stock Samsung SLC SSD):

    Disk Test 56.74
    Sequential 48.89
    Uncached Write 36.88 22.65 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Write 57.43 32.49 MB/sec [256K blocks]
    Uncached Read 35.95 10.52 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Read 105.62 53.08 MB/sec [256K blocks]
    Random 67.59
    Uncached Write 24.35 2.58 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Write 71.98 23.04 MB/sec [256K blocks]
    Uncached Read 1555.53 11.02 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Read 280.10 51.97 MB/sec [256K blocks]

I think we are all seeing slow benchmarks with the Rev. A MBA because of the ZIF/Pata interface. It transfers slower than the Rev. B and C SATA interface.
