Hey, I'm the original author of RevelationSaver -- never thought anyone would be asking about this thing nearly ten years later :)

I still have the source code lying around if anyone wants to try to rebuild it for a modern CPU and OS. I've posted an archive of what is sitting on my hard drive -- best of luck building it, the dates on the files indicate it hasn't been touched in nearly ten years, back when XCode was called Project Builder. I don't think modern XCode even recognizes the old project file.

The screensaver is trivial enough you are probably better off rewriting it... but if you want, feel free to reuse my work. There are copyright notices in the code I didn't bother to remove, but I really don't care what you do with it -- feel free to consider the code public domain.

I was able to upgrade the project without hassle. Here's the source and the build for 10.6+ (didn't test on 10.7 though, but should work).

Excuse the ignorance, but what is RevelationSaver?

From http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/uplink/addons/:

OS X only. A screensaver similar to what happens when you run Revelation on your gateway. I got the strings to use from a picture in Icepick's guide (available at http://www.modlink.net). The font is Times-Roman, size 12. Place the folder RevelationSaver.saver in either {Your home directory}/Library/Screen Savers/ or /Library/Screen Savers/. The first makes it available to only you the second makes it available to everyone but requires admin access. -- sinclair44 (See my webboard profile for email)

I tried this copy (attached) on 10.8 (the last Dev build, I haven't installed the GM yet, been busy). It worked fine for me.

I also made the font FUTURA and 24 point, and added drop shadows since the text overlaps a lot of the time.

Source included. This is kinda fun.

I got the screensaver to work. I couldn't install it directly by double clicking on it but copying it to /Library/Screen Savers seemed to do the trick. I wonder if they changed something with Mountain Lion in regards to this.
