i used the same caddy, except I got it from e-bay.

At first it would not fit precisely into my 2012 MBP, which I thought was odd.

Upon further inspection, it had a bit of a black bumper on the side where the disc would slide into the optical bay.

I proceeded to remove all screws from the tray, and pull the black bumper off. It then fit like a charm.

Not sure if it was like that because it was originally meant for something else, but closing in on a week now and it hasn't caused any problems.

UPDATE: This kit is still fully functional and works flawlessly.

I just ordered my first Macbook Pro, 2012 model, and an SSD is going to be my first upgrade. Quick question if you have a moment: I am going to buy a 128gb SSD to put in my normal HDD location, and buy a 7200rpm drive to put in the optical bay. If I buy this kit and both hard drives, am I all set or is there anything else I need to purchase?

And this may be a dumb question, but will the fact that this is a fully enclosed case cause any overheating problems if I put a 7200rpm hard drive inside of it? Would it be smart to cut some holes in it before install so it can "breathe", or is that just nonsensical?
