So is your iPhone, who cares
Yeah, we bailed out Apple during the 2008 financial crisis so that they can build stuff over in China.
Oh wait...
Not to mention the fact that the platform mate (Cadillac XT4) is being built in the great state of Kansas.
Lastly good luck buying a vehicle for the price you paid for your iPhone.

IBF car dudes comment that Buicks are POS in 3....2.....
Well... they are.

Nobody here is driving a Buick unless the rental agency forces them to drive one.

Everyone here was crying about a Hyundai/Kia partnered “Apple car” because it is Korean. But those are almost all universally better than Chinese or Mexican produced Buicks.

For me to buy BMW, someone has to put gun on my head. Maintenance nightmare and it's resale value is pathetic. Speaking from experience.
They are fun to drive for two years, then dump them. That’s why you lease BMW’s

But I don’t get the humblebrag about spending $112k on a giant ICE equipped SUV with an ugly as sin grill (and massage seats). At least he has the Fox News app, so I will overlook the show of conspicuous consumption.

Buick? Ok... will let my grandparents know. Not sure CarPlay is compatible with their Jitterbug phone tho
Old people don’t even buy Buick anymore.

Buick is for rental fleets, low engagement and low information buyers, and the last bits of “buy ‘Murrican” that have money to spend on new cars and are impressed by their ability to secure massive discounts on their new car. (Nevermind that buicks are Chinese / mexican and they could have bought an American Tesla instead).

You don’t know much about the X7 then.

That is correct of old BMWs as far as reliability but now it’s one of the top brands. I’ve had absolutely no issues. Yes resale falls fast with all luxury stuff. It’s the price you pay to have new, and I’m ok with that.

It has an ugly grill, an ICE, wireless Apple car play (with Fox News), massage seats, and costs $112k.

What did I get wrong? I didn’t question your purchase. Lots of people here have nice cars. I’m just wondering why you decided to make this thread about your car?

Most find the grill amazing. And it has more options than prob any car you know. Well worth the $112k, especially if you compare it to any American made vehicle...garbage.

There was no Mexican built Buicks as far back as 2014. (I did not look further than that)
2014-2015: Cascada (Poland), Enclave (Michigan, USA) Encore (South Korea), LaCrosse (Kansas & Michigan, USA), Regal (Ontario, Canada), Verano (Michigan, USA)
2017: Cascada (Poland), Enclave (Michigan, USA) Encore (South Korea), Invasion (China), LaCrosse (Kansas & Michigan, USA), Regal (Ontario, Canada), Verano (Michigan, USA)
2018-2019: Cascada (Poland), Enclave (Michigan, USA) Encore (South Korea), Invasion (China), LaCrosse (Michigan, USA), Regal (Germany).

Well, i’m glad to hear that you are impressed by it. Im sorry that I don’t find it that remarkable. But this is a thread about garbage Buicks.

The USA made ones are full of Chinese made and assembled parts.

Gross. GM is gross.

True. If you follow stuff like "justrolledintotheshop" on Reddit, you see all the Chinese parts (like vacuum pumps on LS motors) that dealer techs are pulling off of GM products.

They had a run of bad valve springs on 6.2 LS motors built from June 1 to September 15 2020, that primarily affected the new C8 Corvette, and the trucks. I'm betting they were made in China.

That’s a new sub to me. Thanks. Look forward to reading it.

The Cascada and Regal were Opel products, and GM lost access to those after they sold Opel to PSA (now part of "Stellantis"). The Korean-made Encore is a pretty decent product. I'd take a Korean-built car over a Chinese one any day of the week.

I couldn’t wait to get a car with carplay. I had been driving a 2015 Chevy with an solidly functional bluetooth system but no carplay. Finally bought a loaded ‘21 Hyundai Palisade about 5 months ago. Probably used carplay a half dozen times since. I have yet to see any *compelling* feature that the system already in the car doesn’t already do well enough to serve my purposes. I guess I just don’t see what the big deal is. I hope that doesn’t detract from my self content and happiness.
¯\_( ツ)_/¯

Yepper. Every option available.

Have you had other vehicles with that feature and if so how does it compare? I'm asking as I was in accident last year and my back hurts when doing long drives. I'm curious as to how good a built-in massage feature is in these luxury vehicles.

And guess what?
GM is still building the current Regal in China (in sedan form) that is an Opel product.

For anyone looking on the cheap, the 2021 Kia Rio has Wireless CarPlay standard. I test drove a base model yesterday, and was pretty impressed with the CarPlay setup and use in a car so cheap. It, literally, has Wireless CarPlay, but no keyless entry or cruise control.
