Totally agree..! This needs to be a colour eInk display which exists but is not really yet available for this price point.. Who wants a big shining display 24x7 in the evening glowing at them...This sort of thing really needs to be e-ink, not LED backlit. They look fine in the product pictures, but these are so obnoxious once the sun goes down.
If it glows, you don't need to turn on the lights to see it. And images look more vivid. As I mentioned later, the Aura frames can be programmed to turn on/off at scheduled times, and/or if they sense someone is nearby. No, I meant what I said. Why would I want framed pictures to glow at me even if I were in the room?
1999 called - they want to remind us that we could have bought a digital picture frame back then, too.2003 called - they want their super chunky design back.
For less than $200 you could either buy a nice 6x4 photo printer (Kodak) or buy physical prints for next to nothing. Maybe it's just me, but it seems a bit backwards to be having a device that's only purpose is to display photographs. And besides, nothing beats the look or feel of real prints.
Apple needs an iFrame that will pull from select albums automatically, just like the AppleTV.
Yes... and thinner.1999 called - they want to remind us that we could have bought a digital picture frame back then, too.
The iPad had this feature years ago, you could make it a photo frame when docked. It had a little button on the lock screen to start it.I can just use my old iPad for this same purpose!
This might seem useless to most of us who know all the myriad ways to share photos online, but it’s a great gift for non-tech-savvy family. I gave one of these to my grandmother, who never got very good at using the iPad we gave her. My brother and I can easily upload new pics of her great grandkids into rotation without her having to do anything. For less than $200 you could either buy a nice 6x4 photo printer (Kodak) or buy physical prints for next to nothing. Yeah, I'd really love to stream all my photos. Screenshots, random pictures of something I want to get at the storeWhoever engineered this is not firing on all cylinders.
Clearly the more efficient way to handle photos to the frame would be to simply connect it to an iCloud account and pull them from there instead of having to manually select photos from your phone. That way your sideshow could shuffle ALL your photos automatically, which is what I would want.

No, they got this right. You want to *manually* select the best photos and send them to your frame or that of your loved one. It's seriously not that much work.
