This looks really cool, but I won't use it ... I returned my MagSafe Charger. When I ordered I failed to see that it has an integrated power cable (1m), and that just doesn't work for me. I like to hide cables/cords away from view, and 1m lenght is just not enough

... plus I'm with Apple about this whole green movement and would like to utilize one the hundredes of cables everyone assumes that my drawers are full of /s

In all seriousness, can we at least have a lenght option (even if it costs more) ... so I can buy this Cozy thing?

I don’t understand why you would buy the Apple MagSafe charger if you don’t intend to use it while holding your phone? It fees flawed anyway since the cable is way too short.

If your plan it to simply use it as a desktop charger only (which this product would imply), just buy a much cheaper standard pad.

The idea is that MagSafe charges faster than a standard pad, and with less wasted power. It also avoids the situation in which the phone is on the pad but not quite properly positioned over the charging coil.

All this talk of effective pads.

The Price is right, looks like a solid, simplistic product. The one thing I really like, it has a ‘silicon texture’, which will give it a little bit more grip staying in place. The wireless charger that I have in my bedroom, the phone tends to slide around on with smooth surface.
I actually thought that sounded like a flaw - the phone sliding around on top of the charger allows it to easily snap into the correct place (I assume that's why they picked a slippery material). I'm concerned it will be harder to line it up with this material.

I don’t know why these things always have to be round. Can’t they make one that matches the size and shape of the iPhone.
I used to have a rectangular charger the size and shape of my 11 Pro. Before MagSafe it was my favourite charger - it was easy to line the phone up with it (no more waking up to find my phone hadn't been charging all night). Of course it lost this advantage a bit when I got my 12 Mini, but MagSafe has solved that problem anyway. I'd still prefer the charge to match the phone size, as it kinda bugs me seeing the phone hovering, so to speak - it looks messy and wobble-able.

mmmm the magnet is round, not the entire phone
You can put round magnets in a phone-shaped device. An example of this would be.... the phone.

Edit: In fact there's even the extra magnet underneath the circle to help with allignment!

I was given a MagSafe cable and not that I’m ungrateful but I really hate it.

I solved my main frustration by putting double sided sticky tape on the back of the puck so the damn thing doesn’t move around and snap against the back glass every time.

Also the cable length on this is ridiculous. It’s an exorbitant price for a magnetic cable that should have been 2m long.

rant over ;)
You’ve clearly not had experience with other wireless chargers.

MagSafe is 10x better than anything we had before. I love my MagSafe charger.

Someone had not so politely asked about charging speeds, so I wanted to include that information here. I didn't think to mention it because it wasn't a factor. The iPhone still aligns perfectly through the silicone layer, so charging isn't impacted anymore than it is when you use a case.

My iPhone 12 charged to around 67 percent from dead in an hour, which is the even faster than some of the charging speeds I've seen from a standard MagSafe Charger without the MagPad.

It's no harder to line up. It's still magnetic and goes right into the right place.

Did you notice that the iPhone isn’t charging at all in the product pictures?

Yes, I'm not sure it matters? I took those photos in better lighting to show off the design and what it looks like. It looks the same when charging, and I did test the charging extensively on my desk where the lighting is less ideal.

Multiple times a day, I reach to put my drink on the flat, round Qi charger on my desk before I reconsider. At this point I can't seem to erase the muscle memory. :p
I'm glad that's not just me! :D

My chargers are actually better coasters than many coasters I own, since they're not perfectly smooth and therefore don't stick to the bottom of a glass and come away when you pick it up. Unless it's a MagSafe glass.

Well, not to beat a dead horse - but for future reference, it probably does matter.

The lighting was wonderful, and I think everyone gets the aesthetics of the accessory just fine - but if you did test the charging "extensively," it wasn't 100% clear in the article. You answered my question after the fact (thanks again), but it seems more than a few of us were a bit confused by the photos showing a phone on a charger not charging. No big deal. Apparently MR readers are a perceptive and scrutinizing bunch. ;)

I got a MagSafe Duo and haven't regretted it (until Best Buy recently dropped the cost) but the standard MagSafe cable seems so useless to me currently. It makes more sense for portless, so makes me wonder if it's just foreshadowing/conditioning lighting removal for upcoming models.

Ben here, designer and founder @ Cozy. Interesting idea, but that would increase the price substantially as there would have to be 3 different mould sizes. Also with cases fit could be a potential issue. This design uses a modular approach for the top.

Looks like a coaster.
yeah, the kind with the built-in heater.
