Apple users are perfectly happy with not using their mouse while it's charging. Why would they demand any more from their phone?
I like this. Having the phone upright and being able to pick it up without disconnecting makes it more useful if you use your phone for an alarm clock (or sound machine, like I often do).
Most people don't update their phones every year, and the percentage who do keeps dwindling - so it's going to be a while before this is obsolete. Not to mention it's only $39.
Erm, because the mouse holds charge for weeks on one full charge.Apple users are perfectly happy with not using their mouse while it's charging. Why would they demand any more from their phone?
I ordered one for exactly that reason, to use with CarPlay in my '18 Outback. This is the accessory CarPlay users have been missing. And the style fits with most car interiors.
DOA. Unless you don’t have an iPhone with wireless charging.
Convenience, mostly. You can connect the phone to the lightning cable with one hand. Also, if you have FaceId, you can prop the phone up at your desk and unlock with FaceId (if it doesn't fail anyway).OK, I realize I'm an old curmudgeon (guilty as charged!) - but can someone please remind me what is the point of a dock?
I can sync with my Macbook wirelessly or with a lightning cable, I can charge via a wall charger (always plugged in, always available) also via a lightning cable, I can even charge in my Mini Cooper via a built-in Qi charger (I realize that's not available to all) - but to my point... what's the purpose of a dock? How is it better than just having lightning cables handy (which are smaller, lighter, easier to transport or to store)?
I just don't get the point...![]()
