Probably full tear down, but not certain.

Certain folks get advance units to review, play with, etc. BUT, the agreement with Apple is that they can not release and reviews until a certain date, hence the term "embargo". Happens with most new products from Apple.

RAM can be found without a true teardown. Go to Anandtech for the best review on spec.

I agree, I have an iPad 3 and I am so impressed with the battery life!
