Thanks for the feedback 2Knag. Seems the more expensive MX revolution is definitely something for me not to consider now (whew.. $30 savings).

What's the difference between the VX revolution and the MX revolution? The MX Revolution 931689-0403 on Amazon is currently $55 after rebate so the price doesn't seem too different.

I saw there's a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2.0 Laser (QVA-00001) that's $19.99 Free Ship at buy.com. There seem to some nice things said about that mouse, but probably not as good as the Logitech MX revolution right?
I'm weary of the rechargeable battery in the MX because its not replaceable.
Once it no longer holds its charge, there goes the mouse. The VX uses 2 AAs.
The rebate you're speaking of is on an Amazon Visa card which you would use to purchase the mouse. Its available to US residents only. If the battery question is not an issue for you, for $5 more, by all means buy the MX.
I don't know anything about Microsoft input devices for Mac.

I looked over the rebate and didn't see anything about having to use an amazon visa. I may have missed it so correct me if I'm wrong.

The rechargeable complaint does seem like something to worry about though. Now I'm doubting buying this again..

The non-replaceable battery is a concern. I had another mouse with non-replaceable batteries, and it was painful to watch the batteries die, while knowing I couldn't replace them. I am also bit concerned about the charging station for the MX Revolution. I owned a Logitech MX 700 mouse/keyboard set, and it was sometimes annoying getting to the mouse to sit perfectly on the charger to accept a charge. I would often slide the mouse in, and leave, only to come back later and find that it hadn't charged because it wasn't make contact with the base station. The charger/base station on the MX seems to be better designed, but I don't know how it will hold up in the long run.

Give me a backlit illuminated diNovo Mac Edition and I'll be ridiculously happy. I have a illuminated keyboard from Logitech that is very similar to diNovo, but it's Windows, so it sucks a little bit even though it works with my Macs just fine

Long live Studio 60
Here, here to that.

The MX Revolution is more curved to one's right hand. The VX Revolution is not as flamboyant. In terms of actual technology: the sides are different, the MX has a wheel, where the VX has buttons. The biggest difference for me was that the VX uses a battery, the MX is rechargeable through a cradle.

Enjoyed the reviews.

However, one thing I don't seen mentioned is whether these keyboards, the Edge BT and Mac Edition 2.4, will properly support the option keys during the boot process (i.e.- C for optical drive, option for boot volume, etc.).

IIRC, Apple's BT keyboards didn't support them at one point, which required keeping a wired keyboard around as backup if one needed to boot from the optical drive. I don't know whether that was a limitation of BT initializing too late in the boot process, or just characteristic of wireless keyboards in general.

I'd like to pick up a Mac Edition, but that's the only thing holding me back. I'm thinking that since it works on regular 2.4GHz RF with a USB receiver, instead of BT, it may not have that limitation.

I can't hold myself from crying out loud. I have been thinking a lot about this combination, diNovo and MX Revolution, ever since diNovo came out. Aah, I've always wanted it.

Nice review, nice gear :) Have fun playing around with them.
