Oil diffusers are pretty neat in the home, BUT do not use one if you have a cat 😻 in the area. Why? Do some quick research and the reason will be quite obvious.
Do they also have an effect on dogs? I am not buying one anyway, just curious.

I have several Meross wifi smart plugs in a vacation home. They go offline for no reason routinely, forcing me to power cycle them onsite to get them working again.

So yeah, turns out a hub makes IoT devices more reliable.

Meross wants your money to fill your house with a chemical odor, then again to remove it with their air purifier.

The only thing I smell is something fishy.

Put some hash oil inside, turn it on, place the unit in front of you, find some good music, and load up. In a few minutes inflation and gas prices won't mean diddly squat. (borrowed from the movie: The Outlaw Josey Wales).

If it was only waste of money, everything would be fine. This is something much worse.

If your home smells bad, fix the problem (take the garbage out, clean, make sure the ventilation system works). Do not cover a bad smell by much stronger “good” smells.

First, many people (me included) cannot tolerate the incense smell (I may get an infernal migraine attack when exposed to essential oils). Second, the strong smell comes from volatile organic compounds (VOC) which are considered indoor pollutants.
Not to defend this product, I also think it's bad. However, aromatics do more than just cover bad odors, they effect our mood and cognitive functions as well. In recent, quite a few studies show how Citrus bergamia (bergamot) EO can assist with people dealing with Alzheimers, other cognitive impairments, and even enhancing cognitive performance, particularly in the area of memory retention.

When speaking of VOCs being considered as indoor pollutants, one has to consider the concentration of the VOC. When you brew coffee, cook aromatic food, you're releasing VOCs into the atmosphere. Not saying that you are wrong, but that there's a bit more nuance to it than that.

Nuance on the internet? That'd be a first!

Anyway, I own the Vocolinc diffusor (mistflow and flowerbud) and they do their job well. They're not always running (right now I'm trying to bring humidity down not up) but in winter I use them quite a lot (usually with something like eucalyptus when I have a cold or to simply to clear up the sinuses).

Man, I love when everything trivial becomes a "smart" device. lol
I missed the days when analog things worked just fine and lasted forever.

i've bought and returned a few Meross's for the exact same reason.

1. they do not support 5Ghz wifi. just 2.4Ghz.
2. 2.4Ghz must be on its on separate SSID - can't share an SSID.

basically, they have designed their entire tech on old tech and are not Mesh network ready or 5Ghz. i strongly recommend against buying any of their systems until they update their strategy
You have no idea on how "smart devices" work in terms of home automation

I own a Meross air purifier. It worked great for a few months so I bought three new filters for it.
Suddenly it just stopped working.

Not sure breathing in oil droplets is the best thing for the lungs. Any medical professionals here have an opinion?

This physically just looks like a slightly repackaged VOCO Linc Flowerbud Diffuser I have today:

Does it align my chakra with Uranus though?

Does the voice of Deepak Chopra come from it to tell me to focus holy intentional energies on the oils?

Did they chop down a forest for the oils and make a rare species of monkey extinct?

Is Gary Vee or Gwyneth Paltrow promoting it?

If not then I’m not buying it.

I need maximum Idiocracy when I buy smart devices.

I have a start up myself. It’s called Beyond Beyond.

It’s a human enhancement start up.

My main product is self walking gloves. They are shoes for your hands. You put them on your hands and the smart sensors and AI will help you walk on your hands.

It’s completely self balancing with machine learning. Self walking gloves are the future. You don’t need to walk with your legs anymore.

The other product I have in development is meat based plants. I have found a way to make flowers from sausages. There is nothing more romantic than offering your girlfriend flowers made from sausages.

I’m going to ask Matt Damon to star in an ad for the Sausage Flower 1.0.

Sausage Flower favors the brave.

hold off the purchase of any HomeKit device unless it comes with Matter support. Doesn't seem like this one supports it
There is no device on the market today that supports Matter, so I wouldn't let that stop a particular purchase at the moment. Meross is listed as a "participant" in the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), who is developing Matter, so I would not be surprised to see support in the future. Matter is an application layer that works on top of the networking layer, and Matter supports Wi-Fi as part of that layer.

Of course, there is also no guarantee that they will update, but it already works with HomeKit and will be able to interoperate with Matter devices at least that way regardless (assuming this all actually comes to be in the first place).

This is the least needed invention in the history of time. Pure landfill and waste.
There are many air fresheners on the market. To me this left the smallest footprint. I got a few essential oils and add a few drops to water. No more disposable chemical crap. It's actually a humidifier. You control by how many drops. It can be subtle or strong if you like. Unlike incense where you can burn your home down or spraying chemicals everywhere, this is an awesome addition to my HomeKit home. I have 50 devices. This is one of my favorites.

Like most IoT Devices, have a separate network for pause 5ghz to enable the connection then turn it back on

this is a Smart Device I dont really understand too much.

We have oil diffusers and when we want a scent, we add water, add whatever scent we want and hit the power button it runs until there is no more water. With this Smart device we would basically do the same thing but can power off at anytime we choose...but that leads to stagnant water and the need to clean more frequently.
