I have been looking at various laptop or everyday backpacks, and this one looks good. But I wish the "review" could say more about the workmanship, zipper quality, wearing it while commuting/on bike/foot/public transport. It seem like something supposed to be form over function and to be on top of a carry-on suitcase, than on the back of your back.

I have been checking many reviews and I have found some doing actual testing, like on YouTube there is a channel called Danny Packs. But there are others too.

These have been my runner-ups

Peak Design Everyday — Nice but expensive
Osprey Arcane — Inexpensive but less support
Gomatic Travel Pack — Also nice but not cheap
Minaal Daily — My favourite so far in features, but also most expensive
Aer SF Tech Pack — I like the look on this one

I like the ones with two laptop compartments, as I always have my MacBook Air and an iPad Pro with me. These have suspended/padded laptop pockets. Also somewhere to put a water bottle, chargers and other items. I walk a lot and also use my bike. So waterproofing is essential as here it is raining all the time.

Ultimately I haven’t been able to decide on something yet.

Why use the term leather if your customers are horrified of cowhide?

FWIW, 45% of cattle hides go straight to the landfill. No cattle are purpose-bred just for their hides.

Because it’s like leather but vegan. Like coconut milk or chocolate coins.
Don’t know why people get so worked up about language like that

Would you care to share your source for that information

Looks nice but for $230.00 I want real leather. Pass.

Are you just pointing out that you prefer real leather or is there a price point that you would buy “not real” leather at

There are plenty of premium quality, hard wearing and durable “vegan leather” products out there nowadays.
Don’t know if this is one but they certainly exist. I have some very nice high quality shoes, boots, wallets and belts made of various leather alternatives.

Everyone complaining about the price clearly hasn't shopped for decent luggage lately.
I'm not sure the issue is price alone. I've purchased numerous bags from Waterfield Design (sfbags.com) at this price point or higher that are waxed canvas with leather trim. They don't pretend to be full leather and the combination of waxed canvas and real leather is really classy. Plus all of their bags are extremely well designed.

This bag is none of these things. It's fake leather, has an ugly design (although that is highly subjective) yet is priced at point that can and should get you real leather.

You may also take onemate into consideration if you please so.

P.S. sorry, I didn't check they only deliver to Germany & Austria.
But hey, let me know if you want one - we'll figure something out. 😉

Been using the Monos Metro Backpack for a minute on different business trips - I recommend avoiding it like the plague, it is made from sub-par materials. The felt pocket interior on mine started breaking down on its own - when I submitted a warranty request citing this, they made me wait for 3 weeks for an answer and then just said it was from regular wear and tear so they couldn't help. They're selling an inferior product
