Prior to my 13 Pro, I was using a fairly cheap Qi off Amazon. Maybe $12 for two. Worked perfectly fine. My 13 Pro camera bump doesn't play nice with that Qi puck, so I picked up a MagSafe. While I like it, bulletproof charging, I do think I would be more interested in a MagSafe for overnight charging and a cheap Qi for any mid-day desktop charging needs - which, admittedly, I am not needing to charge my 13 Pro during the day. So scrap everything I just said. ?
Tell your story with my Mini 12 and it's spot on. I charge at night with MagSafe because I tend to fall asleep listening to something and 3/7 days per week the phone ends up under me... but the phone stays attached and charged. The battery is almost at the point where I am doing multiple charges per day so failure to charge overnight would slow me down. Except, I don't go anywhere. Heck, I haven't been outside in a week...

I sorta understand why it costs more, if it's made of metal and has a solidity so it doesn't move around or lift off the desk when you pull off the phone. But all in all it's just an expensive stand for your phone that doesn't offer any additional functionality.

One thing that I dislike about magsafe is that it gets HOT. And I am waiting if there is any solution that helps keep temps down. My Samsung wireless charger has a fan inside and the charger surface never even gets warm at all. If there was a magsafe charger that stayed cool, I would happily pay more for it

What would this thing do besides charging my phone? What can this 130$ thing do that a 15$ wireless charger can not? Magnetic alignment is not worth 115$ extra unless you’re a multimillionaire, maybe.

Would be great if it was at least dual device charging. Apple should make MagSafe Qi charging open source so the market opens up for these chargers going forward. So all of these work on any phone and any phone work on all of these.

Besides the insane pricing, this concept is really dumb. It's a magnetic version of a wireless charging pad.... who really needs their phone magnetized with this form factor? Well, aside from the fact that Apple uses software to hamstring the wireless charging speed of iPhones on non-apple or certified devices.

I really wanted to see more innovation with MagSafe accessories that what's actually come out. This would be much better in a vertical implementation but still wouldn't pay that price.

I bought this awhile back for my iPhone 13 so it could charge while I sleep. Haven’t had any issues - Anker Magnetic Desktop Charging Station(MagGo), 637 Magnetic Wireless Charger for iPhone13/12, 8-in-1 Power Strip with 3 AC,2 USB A,and 2 USB C,Max 65W Power Delivery Desktop Accessory for MacBook Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099W6X1W...t_i_JDZH2Q6XQH8NKW5PAB6J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Less money and more options.

Nomad's all metal MagSafe mount looks better, doesn't attract fingerprints, weighs enough to not have to press off, and if you already have a MagSafe charger it costs less than half of this. This feels like a huge step backwards for them.

What is going on with marketing departments?
Not to mention all the X and S variations as well. Companies can be extremely boring when it comes to names.

Um, yeah... I think I would rather pop in my own official MagSafe charger into this for $13:

Elago's even has a reusable adhesive bottom, so it stays on your desk rather than sticking to your phone when you pick it up.
Ah, but the Elago one is not square. Or shiny. Square and shiny is definitely worth the extra $77.
