Yeah, can you imagine the ads? 😂A mount for MagSafe? 🤣
Soon, we'll have a mount for the MagSafe Mount, and then a mount for the MagSafe Mount mount.

Does that include the Apple OEM charger too?Brain-dead on arrival. There is no excuse for a charge-base that doesn’t hold the phone upright so the screen can be seen.
How hard is it to put that thing on a scale? Nonsense info that could have been made valuable with thirty seconds of work.
Or two seconds of research on their product page: 23.7oz / 1.48lbs (670g).
Is this supposed to be journalism?
True, but your time and materials are worth less?I’m sure anyone with a 3D printer can create the exact same thing.

yeah, if my 3D printer used lead filamentI’m sure anyone with a 3D printer can create the exact same thing.
Yeah, I would expect the materials are pennies...so to speak, but, if you have to spend time creating the design and getting it going, babysitting it (if needed) clean up afterwards, etc could you not make more than the $50 doing what you normally make for a living in the time that it takes for all of this process? That was my original thought.I have no clue about expenses, but I would think making one with a 3D printer would cost a fraction of what the Nomad one does.
Anker makes great stuff. I've loved everything I've purchased from them.Every time I see one of these MagSafe accessories I think of how much I like my simple Anker charging stand; it puts my phone at a convenient angle on my desk and nightstand, stays put when I pick my phone up, and is so inexpensive I can buy multiple to place around my house and office. It charges in portrait or landscape, too. Set the phone down, pick it up with one hand... what could be easier?
Thank you for the reply and explanation!I'm sorry. I had a limited time to write this because I didn't get it until Friday around 5pm and I had plans this weekend, so Monday was the only time I had to write. I was in a rush, and I don't own a scale to weigh it, so I apologize for the guesstimate. I also didn't have access to their product page as it was not published at the time.
I have updated the article with the exact weight.
It is MacRumors, not the New York Times. Not sure “journalism” is the term for reviewing tech accessories in the first place. Is this supposed to be journalism?
Better yet; use the camera/proximity/faceID sensors built into the phone.Someone needs to make an electromagnet Magsafe mount where the customer can alter the magnetic strength to their desired strength.
