What kind of skin is that on slickwrap? Matte black?

Just the regular color

I'm really considering a slickwrap and I have a question for you. I assume you have the full coverage, is that so? And did the rhino shield warp or move the corners of the slickwrap at all? I understand it's a really tight fit, I had another skin that the corners were just ruined after a couple times taking on and off the rhino shield. Thanks!

I have no issues. I switch cases frequently.

I just bought 2 of these...one for my 6s and one for my 6s plus

Quite expensive bumpers.

Kristin, how tight are the crevices along the sides between the phone and the bumper? Does dust tend to accumulate a lot inside along the sides?

They are tight, but not super tight. I imagine dust could conceivably get in over time. I'm not a great person to ask, however, because I am constantly switching out cases because of reviews and rarely have one on for more than a few days straight...

Sorry I can't be more helpful :(

This video shows the "give" on the sides (at around 2:13 and 5:20):

So the nice folks at Rhinoshield sent me out a Crash Guard bumper the other day to review. In case you aren't familiar with this product, it is a bumper case which promises 11.5 foot drop protection. So when I opened up the package, I was expecting a burly, heavy-duty bumper device...but what I saw was this ridiculously thin, lightweight little bumper. When I put it on my iPhone, it added almost no thickness to my 6 Plus. I've never seen my 6 Plus look so thin and pretty inside a case (full disclosure: I generally like cases with at least some claim to protection. I've never used the Caudabe Veil or similar cases but I 'm sure they would add even less bulk to my iPhone 6 Plus. But they certainly wouldn't provide 11.5 foot drop protection!)

Does it really provide 11.5 foot drop protection? Rhinoshield says it does, Mobile Reviews Eh says it does and users on this forum have provided impressive testimonials. I never drop my iPhone if I can help it, and I don't intend to test the drop protection of this case. But it is comforting knowing that the protection is theoretically there if needed.

What's it like to use? Great fit, super thin, extremely lightweight, looks beautiful on your iPhone. On the negative side, the only real problem is the amount of grip this case has. I'm still not sure that I didn't receive a lemon in that regard--very few people seem to complain about slipperiness with this bumper case. But mine is definitely on the slick side. Minor quibbles: port openings are a little on the small side (but I'm sure that is more protective) and the included back protector film doesn't like to adhere to the antenna bands or apple logo on the back of the case. But overall, this is an amazing case, even if it is a bit on the slippery side. After all, you should be covered if you drop it!

Here's my YouTube review:

Thanks!

Kristin

Can you just use the bumper by itself or do you have to attach the screen protector?
I just want the bumper.

Bumper is absolutely fine just by itself. Screen protector (and the back protector as well) can be used by itself also. The parts are completely independent.

are you flippin' kidding me? $45 for a bumper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????????

I was all excited reading this thread til I got to amazon and saw that....

no thanx!

You may be looking at the bundle with the screen protector? I believe the Crash Guard bumper alone is around $25...

This is my favorite case around. Been using them with two phones and will likely use one with my 6S+ too!

Does anyone notice sagging on the sides of their rhinoshield?

I have a daswise glass protector that doesn't fully reach near the edge, and I thought the lip of the rhinoshield might cover it, but it seems to sag on the sides.

The top and botom do not sag and snug well against the edge of the protector, but the sides don't, and I know dust will make its way under it.

Or maybe it's due to the protector itself?

Can anyone without a glass protector and just going bare screen with the rhinoshield confirm?

sorry guys, with some imagination i can presume that the bumper is ok..
have it on my iPhone 5s since a day now and yes, i can imagine it will protect my phone... but even though; i don't feel the real difference with other (far much cheaper...) bumpers on the market, right now. but ok. cross fingers.. i'll soon try to drop it decently...

the screen protector then: this really sucks to my opinion..
sorry, but it makes my phone dustier the ever and the screen looks so bloody messy now.. as if i'm having sticky fingers all the time, ha! i really wonder if there isn't any better solution out there than this one (for a better price, as well...)
btw. the back cover is completely worthless.. 3 stickers to cover the back?! when you (after you did glue the stickers) put your phone in the bumper, the stickers will definitely loosen at the sides.. so?

someone a tip for a more decent (and better looking..) screen protector?
ps. did not do the hammer test yet, no..
=;))

I have the yellow Crash Guard and it's definitely grippy/tactile-feeling to hold. Dropped it a couple weeks ago from 30-40 ft (accidentally) onto a solid mall walkway - zero damage. No bending, no cracks in my 6S+. People who saw it falling were pretty impressed with the protection!

The stronger aluminum in the 6S/6S+ probably helps against bending, compared to the previous models.

I tried to like this bumper. I really, really tried. I don't know what it is about it, but I just don't like it. Since everyone seems to love it, I feel like a pariah, lol.

This might sound stupid but has anybody tried installing the rhino shield screen protector and then put a tempered glass over it? I have an extra tgp I might try when I get my crash guard

Why stop there. Just add another Rhino screen protector on top of the glass screen protector on top of the first Rhino protector and then, just for good measure, add one more glass screen protector and your iPhone screen will never, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever get damaged or scratched.

You're a funny guy. Go ahead and make fun but I had a couple extra glass protectors so I figured why not try it? I now have the plastic rhino shield on the screen and a TGP on the rhino shield. Can't tell any difference at all look or feel, and I now have the protection of the rhino with the feel and anti finger print glass.
