But I get if you are lounging on a couch you don't want the hub that near you and most USB-C hubs connect to the Mac via a short (or no!) cord. This small compact Hub (yes I own one and travel with it) lets me pick the USB-C cord that goes BOTH from the power brick to it (any length), and USB-C cord (any length) from it to my Mac, so I can place it ANYWHERE and it is a good price. 7 ports versus 2, 100 watt pass through versus 60.

Hey thank you, I was not aware there were other hubs that can be placed between the MacBook and the power brick! You saved me some money!

This is really clumsy looking; most of Elevation's products are at least an elegant design even if they aren't that useful.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

So I got the hub you recommended and it works the way I wanted it. Thanks again for pointing out such hubs existed. The only thing I must buy now is a new 2m USB-C superspeed power cable. The white cable Apple includes is such a bottleneck! It seems its just good for suppling power. When I try to access my SSD connected to the hub with the Apple cable I only get around 30 to 35 MB/Sec. When I connect the short cable that shipped with the hub I get 350 MB/Sec read/write speeds. So now I just need a longer fast cable and I got my perfect setup.
