This is my first set of AP. I was always afraid they would fall out and wore devices with an ear hook. The APP3 have worked well for about a month but now my R APP3 is falling out of my ear. I am using the default medium tips and did the fit test. Wondering if the foam is compressing and not returning to full shape when it is not in the ear. This weekend I struggled to change the tip of the R side, probably ruined it. I did not understand they unsnapped rather than slip off. Put on large tip on the R, still with medium on L. Still passes the fit test and I'll see if these stay in my ear. Thanks for tip on pointing towards the mouth. The sales guy in the store said straight down. Have not had the opportunity to use them on a plane. I had to stop using noise cancel on my walks because I couldn't hear vehicles approaching from behind.

I've been waiting for the Air Pods Pro 3 but with the fitment, static, screaching, and various bugs like battery and stuff just not working right I'm shelving - Apple have a knack for not always fixing these things, MBP video cards or keyboards for example just swap with same faulty gear that fails again later, so sadly I'm just going to continue with my Bose and wait to see if Air Pods Pro 4 sorts this mess out. What a damper on such a successful product line :(

I love them. Have them in my ears probably 12 hours a day, that’s how much I listen to music. They are a solid step up from the last generation in every way. No complaints.

Not only I still have the pro 2, but they will remain my main airpods, pro 3 will only be a backup
Do you ever sleep in AirPods. How comfortable are these when on the bed on side. I usually wear AirPods in bed and use them to play meditation or even just silence. For me the side sleep is key feature, currently using APP2s, find them comfortable for sleeping in them with no issues but would prefer better NC.

Anyone would recommend APP3 for sleep / side sleep on the pillow in comparison with APP2s/.
Thanks

I love the AirPods Pro 3. I currently use both the Pro 3 and Pro 2. I primarily use the Pro 3 when I'm running as the heart rate monitoring detection is much more reliable than with the Watch. I use the Pro 2 in bed. Both work fine.
Is there difference for "bed use" ;-) Can you side sleep in APP3 as comfortably as with APP2.s?

I've owned the original AirPods and all three generations of APPs. Got the APP3 day one, because I had a transatlantic trip the following week.
  • The re-designed pod does not put pressure on my ear when I side sleep.
This. Thank you. Surprised that finally on 4th page of this discussion someone speaks out about side sleep. Looks like majority just runs and spend time on airplanes. ;-)

No, I sleep with silicon earplugs every night, could not sleep without. Airpods would be a solution if I ever forget them on a trip, but APP3 would be worse since they don't stay in my ears as easily. If they fit you well, however, they are a better solution for blocking non recurrent noise, that's where they beat the APP2 in my experience. With things like airplaine noice they are at best on par with APP2, no matter how I squeeze them in my ears.

I absolutely mentioned that in my post.

I got pair today, first impressions = they are bigger, not smaller, the stem is much fatter in design so is the body which protrudes out. Tips do hurt as there is bigger friction with the ear canal. Definitely do sound better, NC much improved. With AAP2's there was some kind of a static noise always present when nothing was playing and you wanted to eliminate the outside sound only and had them on with NC on. On the side sleep = I will update you on this, but other then that the tip is fatter, the outside protrusion is not that bad. Overall score, well 50: 50. I still might return these (even with 20USD restocking fee)

It's been almost two months since Apple released the AirPods Pro 3, and MacRumors videographer Dan Barbera has been using them since they came out. He has some new thoughts to share on longer-term AirPods Pro 3 use, so check out our video if you're thinking of picking up a pair for the holidays.

There have been recent reports from some people who are experiencing an ongoing static issue with the AirPods Pro 3, so that's something to be aware of. Apple does seem to be replacing affected units for customers who are bothered by the noise, which appears to be audible when ANC is active but no sound is playing.

Other users have been hearing a high-pitched whine when on airplanes, which could be related to pressure. Not all AirPods Pro 3 units are experiencing the issue, but it sounds like Apple is looking into it.

The AirPods Pro 3 offer excellent sound quality and noise cancellation capabilities, and for some people, the fit is much better than the AirPods Pro 2. Battery life has held up well in our testing, and the heart rate sensor offers readings almost identical to the Apple Watch.

What do you think of the AirPods Pro 3 if you've been using them since launch? Let us know in the comments below.

I think the APP3 definitely sound better after they are “broken in” I always think this might just be the listener acclimating to the sound signature of the device but I hear a definite improvement in clarity and definition with greater playing time.
I will sometimes turn off the “Automatic Ear Detection” (Settings>Airpods Pro 3) and just play music through them at about 2/3 volume.
I think they are very good at low volume. I will sometimes sleep with them in at about 10% volume and a great deal of the dynamics and texture is retained including the sense of “air” in live recordings
I listen with Spatial Audio on and with Hearing Assistance on to compensate for what iOS describes as mild hearing loss in the high frequencies. I also notice retained LF power which cold mean that there is so baked in loudness compensation. It could be that the presumed HF boost from the Hearing Assistance is responsible for some of this but it is all part of the APP3/ iOS package which for me works well enough to get me listening to music anew and hearing new things in recordings I thought I knew well. It’s a good thing.

Lol. Yes, I think both are just as comfy. The reason I use the APP2 for sleeping is simply because they’re available and because I fall asleep to them almost through the whole night, that drains the battery. Why do that to new AirPods when I have a pair of old ones.
