Hi, this is my first purchase from the Apple store (UK). I'm a student and have purchased a MacBook Pro through finance on the 12th.

Firstly, it took two days for them to email me telling me my shipping and billing address must be the same to match their policy. Why let me have different addresses in the first place?

Now I have an email saying they have revised my ship date.

So they expect to dispatch it on the 20th? What's with a delay of up to EIGHT days to then deliver it to me? Is this kind of thing normal? Advertised as being dispatched within 24 hours to this kind of service?

    Thanks.

Generally it occurs when new models have been released or their is a delay in getting components. Its not normal, but it does happen.

There's not much you can do about it, other then wait it out.

Thanks, just annoying as I've been looking forward to it all week and was planning on using it to create a website over the weekend. Oh well, looks like I'll have to wait two weeks :(.

Is it likely to be changed again or will it stay at that date now?

Just checked my order and the status has changed to "Preparing for dispatch" so hopefully I receive soon. I can't wait :D.

I ordered my 15" 16/512/2.3 from the education store on theurday and it arrived yesterday.
What is the speck of the one you have ordered?
The delay may be something to do with setting the finance up, I paid for mine.

The revised ship date is bad luck. The good news is that Apples shipping estimates are usually very conservative, so there is some hope that your Mac will arrive monday or even friday before the estimated shipping date.

Just got an email saying it's been dispatched :).

However it says delivers by 28/05/2014 by Standard Shipping.

Surely will be faster than 9 days? Only problem is I need a rough time as I'll be at work and will need my Grandparents to come to my house to wait for the delivery to sign for it.

On all of my Apple online purchases, I have received them the day following the dispatch notification.
In the notification it did say the next day though and on the day I got a "Good News your item will be delivered today" message.

Thanks, guess I'll have to try and sneakily track the package on my phone at work . Most companies send an email or something saying the day it's going to be delivered so hopefully they do that as you say.

Thanks, I start work at 7AM so should give me plenty of time to let my Grandparents know.

Hmm, earlier on it said dispatched "London GB".

    Now "SHANGHAI, SH CN"

    ????

I'm in the UK by the way. I also purchased 3 years Apple care and it says my items are sent from different locations and are merged together before delivering to me. Is this to do with the location change?

The AppleCare certificate comes through the normal post in about 2 weeks.

You don't have better tracking? In the past I could even identify the planes that my MBPs were on. You can try to find out which company will do the final delivery and enter any kind of order or tracking number you might have in their system. Tracking is often available way before Apple tells you about it.

If it is already in Luxembourg, I would be surprised if it takes another week. Keep us updated ;)

We're you sent tracking info? All I got is a text saying it's dispatched and now when I view the order on the Apple website it just tells me the country.

I have a reference number but no tracking number yet, would imagine when it reaches the UK I'll get one.

It does say "Delivery: 23 May, 2014 - 28 May, 2014" but then says estimated for the 28th. Hopefully they're just saying that and it comes early.

With my purchases it has been pretty basic delivery tracking.
Just saying when it is estimated and then delivered.
No mention of who it is with or where a bouts in the country.

Well that was what I was trying to tell you. Apple sent me tracking info very late. But I was able to identify the delivery company in my country (TNT Switzerland) and enter the order number there, and they found the shipment. So I could see when it arrived in Amsterdam from Shanghai, and made its way to me.

In the end I still missed the shipment and had to pick it up from a very inconvenient location... but at least I had the fun of tracking.

So 5 days for it to go from Leicester to Peterborough :(.

Also got my Apple Care certificate today. Just a piece of paper. Is that all I'll receive?

I've now got tracking info by UPS. Now expected to be delivered Tuesday.

When I go onto their website it allows me to change my delivery address. Do you think I should do this?

Remember originally Apple wouldn't let me have my billing and delivery address different. But now it's UPS' hands should this matter?

Would be much easier to get it delivered elsewhere.

With the AC agreement you can log onto their support website and check the status of the AC.

Try changing the address, see if it lets you. I'm sure if UPS are happy about it they will do it.
