You really need to do work with these tools, Ambrosia7177, to understand what they do.

You're asking about the corner-handling and performance of a Chevy Maverick, when all we really know is how a Toyota Rav4--or Alfa Romeo Guilia--handles.

Test-drive your vehicle; first ;)

True, but up front research has always paid off for me...

For example, I thought that Affinity Photo would allow me to easily browse hundreds and thousands of photos in a gallery, but alas it won't. (Had I not started this long conversation that fact would have never came to light!)

I have a plethora of choices based on this thread, and when I have time I will start "test-driving" different options.

Measure twice, cut once... ;-)

Yeah; years-ago, I read the Product Page for AP, and easily came to understand that it was an image-editor; not a Digital Asset Manager (DAM) . . . this is one of the top-hits (dings) on "Affinity" as users are yearning for an affordable--and comfortable--DAM (the prospect of such has been teased).

In case you've not done a deep-dive, each product clearly states what it does . . . and, each offers a Trial version to let you dip your toe in :)

There is no $$$ to be made if you solve all of the problems consumers face! ;-)

But I wouldn't have know the difference between Photoshop/Affinity Photo and Lightroom without this conversation. (Product specs only go so far.)

And I have never heard "Digital Asset Management" (DAM) until just now - again why I find forums like MacRumors has to be so invaluable!

Give us what we want, and we'll be satisfied.

Give us what we need, and we'll be happy.

Happiness is Priceless....

Yeah, but capitalists don't see it that way... Instead of combing Photoshop-esque and Lightroom-esque features in one application, they make you buy two.

Well . . . it would be horrendously difficult to seat a nail with a wrench!

You lost me?

It sounds like for my use-case, I need to look for Lightroom-esque type applications, although it would be good to own Affinity-Photo as well...

If you're looking for some peace of mind, you might want to check out Photopea, which is free and works right in your browser, or Pixelmator Pro, which is just for Mac and doesn’t require a subscription. But honestly, Affinity still gives you the best mix of features, power, and value, especially if you’re starting as a content creator or a small business owner.
