So I know it was all the rage to do 8GB of RAM in a non-unibody MBP Santa Rosa last year, but that was on Leopard. Reports of it being unstable came out, etc. But now that we can choose to boot into a full 64-bit kernel, is anyone willing to re-explore this possibility?

It seems it's a hardware limitation, so not they can't take 8GB fully.
