I have to decide on one notebook to keep due to cancer and divorce bills... I have a base 2015 15 inch MacBook Pro with retina display, 256GB SSD and 16 Gig of Ram. I also have a 2017 12 inch MacBook with 16 gig of ram, 512 SSD and the 1.3GHz i5... I have to sell one. They are both flawless and still under Apple Care. I only use my laptop for web browsing and office apps. I love the power of the 15 but I adore the portability of the 12. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

12” MacBook. 15” isn’t necessary for your usage and you prefer the portability of the MB.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Best of luck with your illness.

As for the laptops, why did you have both? Did you use both and did you actually need the 15"? It sounds like you might prefer the 12" (like me) but if you were using both, perhaps you had a reason you wanted/needed both?

I would keep the 12” for it’s flexibility and dump the 15” for it’s better resale value.

I am going to keep the 12 and sell the 15... Now to figure out what a flawless base 15 is worth that still has Apple Care until September... LOL

Sorry to hear about your situation. Macbook is fast enough for your usage and it's very portable and much joy to use than the heavy macbook pro.

You’ll get a good price on the 15” for sure. Plenty of people still like and want that form-factor with the ports, and it pays well to keep Macs in good condition.

Well a 2015 Sells new on Apples website at $1,999 and refurbished is $1,699. I would see if its like brand new around $1,000 to $1,200 if you want to sell it yourself?
