ridiculous delay from 7200 rpm HD

No, absolutely nothing is going on with mine. I have decided that I need to just show more patience and quit complaining. Koops' was originally scheduled to be shipped on July 3 (if I am not mistaken) and I have my fingers crossed that his actually ships and doesn't get bumped (that would just be too much!) As for me, I will survive the delay as long as I get one that is relatively defect-free and don't have to return it. Since I will be new to Macs, I need some time to learn how to use them before I start my next big project. Congratulations to everyone that is starting to receive their new 7200 SR MBP and I can't tell you how sorry I am for those of you that received one with the yellow tint. After such a long and tedious wait, that just stinks!
Has any one ordered the same MacBook Pro as I did?

My computer has the yellow tint at the bottom of the screen and I'm sending it to Apple for them to replace the screen. This kind of sucks. Since it's the customized 7200, the Apple store can't really do anything about it.
I am really sorry to hear that! The only positive is that they are going to replace the screen, I was afraid they might not do anything to correct the problems. Hope it doesn't take too long for them to send it back with a beautiful, perfect screen. Best of luck to you!
I ordered the EXACT same thing (2.4, glossy, and 7200 rpm) on June 16th, and it arrived at my house on June 28th.
I called apple as nothing is going on with mine either! I asked if they have a 'ordered first' 'ship first' policy, the guy said yes - I then asked him why others that have ordered later and now recieving theirs then? he said its due to the 7200 HD. When I explained that these other people had the same speck as me - he said he'd chase it up and mine would definately ship by the 3rd? - but obvisouly evaded the answer ot my question - obviously he could be fobbing me off and I'm like your osprey - hoping for defect free so as long as its that then I don't mind if i wait a bit longer!

Seriously though it would be interesting to see people who live near by getting their machines. If mine really is on the ground in China while others who ordered after me are playing with their new toys, it'll be the last time I rush out to buy any new Apple gear...

Though by the looks of things it doesn't make a difference

Nah, ordinary order. I did put an extra power adapter on the order, which means a merge-in-transit, but it should be merged locally and there shouldn't be any issues with stock as it's down as a 24h item in the uk store... With hindsight I should've left the laptop as the only item and walked around the corner from the office to the Apple store for my other impulse purchases!
Anyway I've just had a tracking update and it looks like the flight left (in fact it should have landed already, but no updates on that yet).
So there's still hope I might see it this week, rather than the predicted date of next week...
I've noticed that the estimate on the UK Apple site for the 2.4 15" MBPs (all configurations) is "Ready to ship: 7 days" whereas the US site has "Ships: 5-7 business days."
Is that just a "Tom-ah-to, Tom-ay-to" thing? "Ready to ship" sounds awfully like "Prepared for shipment", or "Still in China until further notice."

The shipping dates on the US site now jumps to 7 - 10 days if you are ordering the 7200. So for those of us still waiting, it doesn't really sound all that encouraging to me, but maybe at this point I am just being overly cautious about expecting mine before the originally stated ship dater.
Best of luck to you Koops (and to all), I am not only hoping for your scheduled ship date as well as a defect-free MBP. Someone has posted the yellow tint might be related to a tamper proof yellow sticker that Apple places on the screens. That would be wild if that were actually the reason, but at this point everything is just conjecture, including my shipping date.
