I may be completely off base here and
perhaps there is a fix for what I am
experiencing so please bear with my
    ignorance on this subject matter....

I have a Mac Pro that I am using with
a Dinovo Edge keyboard and MX Revolution

When I need to right click on something
I just do it. No problems.

However, on my friend's Mac Pro and
I believe also on my Macbook Pro in
order to properly right click you need
to right click on the mouse AND press
    the CTRL or OPTION key.

Now I never considered this, but perhaps
there is a setting in preferences that
will allow me to just right click normally
    without pressing additional keys.

    So my question is this....

Is the problem of having to right click
while pressing a keyboard key native
of the Macbook Pro and iMac?

If I buy an iMac and use the Logitech
keyboard instead of theirs will I still
have to press a key while right clicking?

    Thanks again

    forlod bygningen

System Preferences > Trackpad / Keyboard & Mouse

    Mighty Mouse:

System Preferences > Mouse / Keyboard & Mouse

I have used a lot of third-party mice from Logitech, and I never had to enable right-click on them.

Also the key one has to press for right-clicking with the left mouse button is CTRL.
It's the same key on non-Macintosh keyboards.

On my MBP I had to set the secondary click, not sure if this is what you are looking for though...

Sorry, just noticed someone else answered this.

So, unless I am mistaken, it seems on an
iMac one must always hit CTRL while right
clicking. There is no fix for that.

Why does Mac make you do that?

As I noted, right now I am using a Logitech
MX REVOLUTION mouse on my Mac Pro and
I just right click (left side of mouse) without
    having to hit any buttons.

No, as long as the mouse supports right click, you can right click. The Mighty Mouse supports it, all PC mice support it. You do not need to control click. If you are having issues with your Logitech mouse, instal the Logitech software and adjust button settings.
