If BB is trying to cater to businesses still, they are doing a terrible job. Current BES servers will NOT support the new BB 10 OS. Either businesses will need to replace ALL their devices at once, or run two servers until everyone is running BB OS 10. Why go through all that trouble when it is easier to move to iOS, Android or WP 8? I think that is where 'Blackberry' really shot themselves in the foot, at least in terms of trying to mount a comeback.
Do a bit more research before posting !!!!::rolleyes:

First Blackberry 10 User Reactions.

http://youtu.be/7y-ISy8qpqg

I believe any new phone requires adjustment especially when finally stepping away from the very basic Apple ecosystem.this video is terrible.

Exactly how does this qualify as a "mac rumor", or even as an "Apple rumor"?
It's a "what ever the hell the MacRumours staff want to put up here". They write the articles, they get the choice. It being Mac related, or not Apple related at all, or legal or advertising or whatever, all up to them.

The Z10 does look just like the Droid X, but I like the industrial design of it: both corporate and elegant. It looks better then the anorexic look of the iphone5 actually, which has way too much wasted space on top and bottom (Apple should have made the home button smaller or even capacitive).

Only the side bezels of this phone are huge, they should have made those narrower and adjust the software if the side bezels are also used for swipes.

The UI seems clunky indeed, too many complex moves, unclear how the OS is structured. The look is also not very original, recognizable and frankly, hideous from a design POV.

To me the phone itself seems like a great device, it's sexy and corporate and recognizable as being a BlackBerry phone, but the OS seems a weak point rather then a strength, and the eco system seems extremely weak as well, even compared to Windows Phone.

Maybe it will be a hit among corporate users like the old BlackBerry phones, and get a cult following again with the (mainly afro/latin-american/european) youth, but I'm not holding my breath.

It does seem to appeal to different users then Windows Phone, which has trouble finding their audience, so it will be interesting to see which of both will take off, or maybe even both.

Awesome. Glad they are making a comeback. The more competition, the BETTER our iOS devices. :apple:

You're implying that this will somehow threaten either Android or iOS on any level whatsoever. As far as both Google and Apple are concerned, I'm pretty sure they'll find that BlackBerry's latest offering can be safely ignored.
I've been wrong before, and I'd love to see a third, innovative OS spring up and shake things up a little, I just somehow doubt this'll be it. I for one hope that Firefox will eventually bring some riper version of their up and coming OS to phones in the Western market, they're a company I actually trust to innovate, if only a little.

I like the rebranding as it seems more people prefer to say BlackBerry instead of RIM when they talk about the company.

What could apple possible learn from these devices?

Don't deliver a product a year late? Noted

Try, don't replace a perfectly working maps with a pos maps app.
And the new appstore is broken.
The new iTunes is very un-user friendly. I mean did they not even have user acceptance testing? If so they picked some pretty incapable users.
Many times I import videos to itunes and they don't show up for some reason. Then I do it a couple of more times and still nothing. Then I connect my ipad and browse through the videos to select and there they are more than once!
They kept the same OS since the beginning and have made very little progress. Android and now Blackberry are way ahead of them for features and usability.

Late? Come on! I would rather have something polished and late then early and buggy and un-user friendly. They have NOT fixed the maps. Telling the users to use their competitors maps is pathetic.

That phone looks pretty good to me, at least from that angle.

The screen shot makes me worry about the software, though.
I'm surprised they would choose it for a press shot. What's the message?
I guess it's supposed to be:
This phone does it all, all at once.
But to me it says:
this phone bombards you with many bits of information, most of which is too truncated to make sense of, using a messy and inconsistent UI

Gee, sign me up.

Agreed, but since this is their first version of the re-designed OS. There are bound to be issues, and they are by no means going to be on par with iOS, wp8 and android right out of the gate.

When given a choice at the same price points....most will choose an OS that as been around the block once or twice.

to say the least.

I think that isn't a fair comparison, since the iphone was a revolutionary device, despite the shortcomings you point out..

The new BBM

The new BBM seems really cool. It has built in video chat with screen share. I know apple has facetime and imessage, but it'd be cool if Apple updated imessage to include video chats with multiple people at once. Kind of like a google hangout.

Judging by those screen shots on the new Blackberry, they still don't get it.

What don't they get? Please tell us?

From all the demo videos I've seen, it's pretty slick OS. I like it better than iOS 6 on my iphone 5.

Early reviews have been less than enthusiastic. And who wants a damn BlackBerry anyway? Even the corporate world is turning more and more towards iOS/Android devices as a mobile solution.
I work in the financial service industry and no iPhone or Android device is permitted to be used for company business.
They are still deemed insecure when compared to any BB.
We have a few of the Z10's that were given to us for testing out the new BES servers and they are excellent phones. The personal and business modes work as advertised. It is impossible to have data from one side be used on the other.
Wish I was on the short list for testers.

(Apple should have made the home button smaller or even capacitive).,

Don't you need a physical switch (Home Button) for hard resetting the phone? You know... when you accidentally brick it after a failed jailbreak.

And it can't just be one switch or you might do it by accident.

Also I hope someone takes the idea of the universal inbox or blackberry hub and turns it into a standalone app for iOS and maybe Android.

But on the other hand who wants tweets mixed in with their email?

You can also foresee a lot of people drunk texting to the wrong place with BB10.

Crap, I sent those pics of myself to Twitter when I was trying to...:D

.

Most review sites are bias and against Blackberry for years. What they say who cares, it's real world people that use it everyday is what matter. Last time i checked when has apple innovated anything? The iphone is getting more and more stale every year they release more or less the same boring phone.

iOS is old and is showing it's age. It lacks most features new super phones have. Frankly apple has peeked and there is no innovation anymore. All they do with the iphone is faster processor, more memory, newer display is that innovation? Hardly.

Least Blackberry developed their own OS in house from the ground up. Just as Apple did. It will just take time for them to build the user base back up and get developers back on board. They learned they need a ecosystem and developers have the tools to do that now!

If you just want to think apps sell a phone i disagree. I would say 75% of the apps on google play or app store are junk! It's the experience. Iphone is outdated the operating system shows. Just look how you multitask with the home button or closing apps. It's like the 90's way to do things.

Go play with a Z10 for yourself not by some i endorsed bashing from so called writers. Blackberry is a good alternative because a 2 operating system market is not what carriers need.

Android there is no real profit for the majority of hardware makers besides samsung and apple is already seeing the iphone 5 is falling flat. It's way overpriced for the "cool" factor of dated falling behind technology. 4G took forever, and NFC is still missing.

It's the usual apple way though put just enough new things to make people buy it, even though it could have all been done in one.

Bring on competition maybe Apple will get it's mojo back, because it has not innovated in years!

Apple stock is falling like a rock. It's shaping up to be just like Blackberry. Not keeping up to the technology and are falling behind! Sure didn't take Android long to catch up to apple that was ahead for years! There is room for Blackberry and are far from down and out.

The company is still there it's not sold and still have almost 3 billion. To say there are dead is arrogant. See where apple is after they release another lack luster iphone this summer with what NFC and a new screen, increased memory and processor whip tee do! Same boring shell.
