End-to-End encryption means that Ring/Amazon won't have access to your videos. Just you will be able to decrypt them (you own the encryption keys).

"Normal" encryption means that the video feed is encrypted in transit and at rest by keys that Ring/Amazon have access to, and thus, in theory, that they can leverage to decrypt those files with.

The fact that Apple have included support in their newest devices should go a long way to boosting adoption.
We've seen this already.

LIDAR? gone nowhere, still a toy. U1? Barely used except for Airtags.

How about App Clips? Never seen one after the big iOS14 hubbub.

Apple trying something doesn't mean others will adopt it. There are still overall very few Homekit devices compare to the total list.

The U1 is about to be massive for things like CarKey 3.0, in a few years it will be the default way of using your car.

Also Thread/Matter are being adopted by Amazon and Google so I think it will take off.
