Hi All,

So just updated my laptop and cannot seem to get the convertion to AAC. I put in my 30 sec time and then convert it but its just covering just 1sec of it and its the start of the song (not the section I want)

Hoping someone can help me?

Thanks in advance

Louise

I never had much luck doing a conversion with iTunes as the procedure seems to change with every new version. The Mac App Store has a number of apps that create Ring Tones for you. You might want to use one of those which will simplify the process. Not sure what some of them cost, but I seem to remember that it's not much.

Try convert song to AAC *first* then adjust duration. I think version changes are likely the issue. I'm on latest version of iTunes and can adjust duration before convering fine.

I wish I could figure out how to use GarageBand to make a ringtone. It seemed overly complicated to me, but that might just be me.
GarageBand directions:

Create a ringtone from an existing project
  1. Open the project.
  2. Choose Share > Ringtone to iTunes. If the exported ringtone exceeds the maximum length (40 seconds), a dialog appears. Click Adjust to have GarageBand shorten the ringtone automatically. Click Cancel to return to the song so you can shorten it.
  3. There is no step 3.
