I'm a total noob to ringtones/iTunes ...
I converted/created a ringtone in 9.2 for my iP4 and am trying to add that to my iPhone. I get the warning:
"this iphone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?"
I'm not sure if this will screw anything up on my iPhone ... I only want to add the ringtone, not erase any on there?
I'm on the machine I normally sync with and that I activated my iPhone 4 on.With respect, the warning says "Do you want to erase this iPhone..." yet you say you are not sure if this will screw anything up...?
Use the machine that you normally sync your iPhone with, and use iTunes on that machine to add the ringtone. Good luck![]()

I just don't understand what I'd be "erasing" if I added a ringtone?
Yep, same account.
Perhaps it has to do with upgrading from 3G to 4?
I don't have any music/ringtones on my 4 other than stock tones. Only time I ever used iTunes before was to upgrade software, and only after I read on MR that bugs were out.
Thanks for trying.![]()
I did and it added the custom ringtone & an album I purchased. Thanks, again.Hmmm, maybe. Sounds ok to go ahead and choose 'Erase' when that dialog pops up...
