Maybe there is to much info out there to get this straight in my head. I want to download simple .mp3 alarm tones and message tones and have them appear in the ringtone list. I can get them in the music folder but dont want them there. If I hit shuffle and all of a sudden a alarm tone plays is very irritating lol.. How can I take .mp3 files and have them appear in the ringtone list but not the music folder. I am using 4s and most current Itunes. Thanks

If they are .mp3 format they will appear in your music list. You need to convert them to .m4r format which will then put them in your ringtone list.
There is app called Ringtone Creator which auto makes ringtones and text tones for you which you can then drop into iTunes then onto your phone.
    Hope this helps :)
