So... I just noticed that they are now branding all of the watches as just "Apple Watch" and then specifying the case materials instead.

Looks like aluminum models have also gained the ceramic/sapphire back (no more glass/composite heart rate cover).

Interesting change in marketing... they definitely seem to have abandoned trying to position the Watch as a high-end product.
 
If you look at the model comparison, it shows the back materials are different
Sapphire crystal (stainless steel and ceramic cases)
Ion-X glass (aluminum cases)

yeah its defiantly interesting what they are doing and i didn't hear anything about the two deferent sizes like on the older one

The 38mm and 42mm sizes are still there. For me, the biggest change is they've dropped the Gold Edition watches and the new (ceramic) Edition is about 1/10th the price of the old ones!
 
Are the so-called inexpensive Apple Watches the same horrible aluminium?
