ripping an idvd issue

I recently made an imovie project and burnt it to disk... All worked fine and the master copy works really well.
The issue I have is that (stupidly) I didnt save the project and cleared it off of my hard drive thinking if anyone wanted a copy I'd just rip them another from the disk.

Typically, Someone else does want a copy and every time I have tried to rip the the master copy DVD i made in idvd, it just copies loads of files and doesnt play.. please help as this is really starting to bug me now 😕

If you still have a working DVD, use Disk Utility to make an image out of that DVD, which you then can burn again and again without using the DVD
