iPod Ripping Songs from iPad/iPod Back to iMac??

Hey,

I have been using my WD Mybook to store all of my music and, well, it backfired. The unit crashed and erased all of our data, and all of my songs in my iTunes library can't be "located." I'd like to get my music back in the easiest way possible, which is ripping. What is the best program to use/purchase, and what are my options? Thanks a lot!
