As for the BSOD, I have not seen one of those since windows XP. I have, however, had spinning beachballs on my previous macs well past that. Go figure. no words on those, however.

Ok, and?
When someone says 'industrial world' it typically means production and processes and such like. There are industries that don't fit under that banner and if that's what you are in then great. If not great.
I don't think it's going to improve or detriment to my day either way if you did say what your industry was.
My apologies for upsetting you, be well.

MS a rival? I think that’s laughable at this point, Microsoft is only relevant in the game because of the long standing need in the enterprise. I may get dunked on for this, it, I believe most would choose Apple if they had a choice.

Choose Apple for what? Desktop? Mobile?

Apple is still in the same position it was 20 years ago with desktops... trailing by a long shot. They'll never get above 15% market-share. They may be the Cadillac, but they'll never be dominant like Windows. Apple has clearly never been a rival to MS in desktops.

What I think is laughable is that this crowd still thinks that Apple has skin in the desktop game without admitting that barely 10% of it's revenue actually comes from Mac sales. Without the iPhone, Apple may not have survived the war that it lost for PC dominance.

The blue screen of death company needs to shut it. Their products are inferior. More and more people are running away from MS. Towards Apple and all the poor pleps towards the Chrome Book.

I own just as many Win10 machines as I do Macs. Believe me, I see more kernel panics in MacOS than I see in BSOD in Win10. Even with custom rig builds that are overclocked.

But, meh. To each their own. Maybe I just know how to maintain my machines.

Well, it's MS. 🤷‍♂️

What baffles me is Microsoft Research (MSR). The have amazing people there, they build great proof-of-concept prototypes, really amazing stuff. Yet, they never manage to hand this stuff over to Microsoft Corp. to commercialize it in the form of actual products and end up with a bunch of junk.

Hololens is a perfect example for this. For prototypes and to play around with, it's doing a good job. As an everyday product where people actually use it... meh.
I think its the leadership. Android is a solid product but negligence from management which uses iPhones as daily drivers instead of a bar makes Android feel incomplete. That's in addition to terrible management structure.

Mines stable haven't crashed hackintosh yet. I'm missing a few features here and there. None the less I do have GPU artifacts from time to time--no its not hardware, its the software/kexts.

After years of using both Windows 10 and macOS I am glad to have access to both. I use Numbers for spreadsheet needs and export to Excel to use Dropbox functionality at work due to browser integration with Excel. Word remains my favorite word processing app. Firefox has become my main web browser of choice for both platforms.
I wish I could say one OS is better than the other but those days are long gone for me. I have had Windows up for days at a time as a Bootcamp installation when needed, and macOS up for weeks without rebooting. Mainly I work from macOS and access Windows using VMware Fusion (independent VM and Bootcamp installations). Before returning to Apple hardware in late 2020 I worked from High Sierra on my 2017 Razer Blade Pro as I would like any other Mac till Apple got passed some of the hardware issues from 2016 to 2019. For trips I could haul the MacBook Pro yet have found the GPD MicroPC running Windows 10 just as capable for what I need.
The AnyDesk app and service makes getting back to my Mac hilariously simple no matter what kind of OS or network I am connected. Private Internet Access gives a descent VPN service to allow for mobile computing security and runs on most platforms.
Where we are now with the mach and NT kernels is quite amazing. Windows has come far since Windows 8 and has matured nicely under Windows 10. macOS 11 continues to find new ways to bring some of the best in class from iOS to the desktop. Blending the best of both operating systems using virtual machine technology makes hybrid workflows solid options for users.
Apple's M1 technology will help reinvigorate Windows on ARM and continue each company to spur innovation. Finally I can say MacWinTosh is where I exist.
The only thing I will not go back to using is a Windows based keyboard. Every since I found Keychron mechanical keyboards and Mac inspired keycaps I no longer have to stare at a Windows key. Lube the switches, foam the base, trim the stabs and individualize your typing experience. Just remember the Command key functions as a Windows key when needed. :)

NO, you just ACTUALLY own both. Anyone who make claims about BSOD this day and age are fanboys who never owned anything but a beachball machine. Like I said, I saw many more beachballs than BSOD.

It's not a rivalry if one side consistently wins and produces better products.

Seriously, Microsoft's presence in mobile at this point is more of rounding error than anything (10 points to anyone who knows what I'm paraphrasing!)

I found it and it also mentions the Zune! Remember the Zune? 🤣

Did you find that sitting at Starbucks? I still have my zune and besides not having iTunes, its still miles better than any ipood that came out. My previous statement still stands, your video proves NOTHING as to what's being talked about. Actually Microsoft is KILLING apple in AR right now. Who has billions in contracts with various agencies and corporations. I know, I know, apple AR you can make yourself do the dougie on someone else's counter without being there, that's freakin awesome. SMDH.

Please watch that Steve Ballmer video again! It doesn't matter if Microsoft is killing Apple at AR now. lol It is kind of sad but it is Microsoft's game to lose! They are their own worst enemy! Microsoft never figured out prodicts! Even the Xbox is starting to wane now. compared to the PS5!

Ballmer was/is a dope. He's not running microsoft. I could say the same about the almighty fruit. Under tim cook they have released the same device every year and fans lap it up. Basic boredom. And Xbox is doing fine. Talk to me when apple start pulling down billion dollar government contracts for AR technology. I will wait.

As a recent Mac OS user - for a few months; its poignant to read suggestions that current Mac OS could even be put in the same category as Windows 10; those who moved to Mac many years ago may well have made a wise decision but things have changed mightily. PC mag. scored 4 for Mac OS vs 15 for Windows but they didn't seem to be fully aware of the inherent dysfunction of Mac OS where any minor adjustment e.g. using a "hotspot" for WiFi requires plugging in a keyboard; resetting NV RAM and maybe a re-start after that to get back to "normal".

Maybe my clear and confirmed explicit experiences - and the above is one of many - was caused by some loose solder or dead bugs in the device but that seems unlikely.

Same as. Only really annoying thing I find about Windows now is how it administers updates.
