rmbp 13 keyboard unresponsive after updating to yosemite

has anyone experienced unresponsive keyboard after updating to yosemite? my alt+tab still works, and i'm able to switch between apps, it's just i'm not able to input anything in safari or mail etc.?

is it caused by yosemite?
