I have always been a tower/laptop guy. But this computer is changing the game for me. After comparing it in-store to a similarly equipped Mac Pro on FCPX with the same video files, the rMBP won hands down. It was not just slightly faster, it was MUCH faster. I suspect this may be why we are not seeing much in the way of updates for the Mac Pro. Apple may keep the Mac Pro around, but I think I will get a rMBP and be more than happy with it.

In my opinion, the rMBP is a potential game changer, but I am waiting to see how it holds up and what users think of it a bit longer term.

    Thoughts?

Before you know it, computers will all be retina and be fast as that in a few years.

A friend of mine just got his, and he says the same, no need for a desktop anymore. I would like this to be true, I don't want to have to have a desktop and laptop anymore.
