Hi when my base model macbook pro retina with 16GB of ram arrives I am planning on installing windows 7 through bootcamp to install and play microsoft flight 2012 on, however due to the small 256GB SSD inside I am hesitant on how large to make the partition what size do you think I should make it?

Win7 takes up approx 20 gbs. Also MSFS X is around 8 to 10 if I remember correctly? Factor in a little extra space, plus maybe room for a game or two more, and you're at 50 gb.

Also, you can always expand or shrink your partition if necessary, so don't think too hard about it. I mean, it's not something you want to do regularly, but don't beat yourself up trying to come up with a number, when it can be changed.

Hope that helps!

Pardon my ignorance but how do you shrink or expand the partition size?

You can't.

Well, you can, but it's not worth the trouble (believe I have done it), so if you want more/less space you basically just delete your windows parting, make it again and re-install everything.
