Just to let ya guys know that 15" rMBP 2013 is now on refurb store ;) since today and that it starts to ship in next 30 business days so it could mean that rMBP haswell will be out at least 30days to 45days from now on :) anyhow looks like the prices of 2013 rMBP are higher than 2012 models so seem like we wont see price down on rMBP haswell

Available to Ship: 30 business days.
Maybe they're waiting to sell the refurbs until the haswells come out. 30 business days is Tuesday September 17th, which I guess could be the haswell rMBP release date..

EDIT:
Depends how you count it.
30 business days including today and labor day: Monday September 16
30 business days including today and excluding labor day: Tuesday September 17
30 business days excluding today and including labor day: Tuesday September 17
30 business days excluding today and labor day: Wednesday September 18

Last year the September announcement (iPhone 5, iPad 4) came during the second Wednesday of September. The 18th would be the third week, but also on a wednesday.

Might be one of the best Haswell release date predictions I've seen yet. :D

Seeing as how this is about a $200 discount from the education pricing, I think it's worth waiting. If the new rMBP has no dedicated GPU, it will even better, because the price will have dropped even more.

Would you jump on a Best Buy open box for $1,699 out the door on a base 2013 15" rMBP?

nice ty
1. Can i still use education discount and get discounts?
2. Is a warranty included?

Education discount is only on new Macbooks, open boxes are excluded.

Apple will reset your warranty if you send them a copy of your receipt. You will have 1 year of warranty from your purchase date.

If I recall there were some internal changes to update the parts (ssd, i/o board, http://9to5mac.com/2013/02/16/new-m...acbook-pros-use-some-upgraded-internal-parts/

The most notable change was the .1 GHz CPU bump because it was part of the updated Ivy Bridge CPUs. I don't think it justifies an extra $270 on the refurb store. If anyone has more concrete evidence/more knowledge on the subject I would be glad to hear it.

how are you guys coming to the conclusion that this is a determining factor though?

Apple typically doesn't sell last years model refurbished until the newest model surfaces, or at least right before it surfaces. MBA did the same thing. It's not a concrete date, but it gives us a better time frame than "September or maybe October."

I have a couple thoughts.

Neither the presence of the Early 2013 rMBP on the Refurb Store nor its 30-business-day shipping time is indicative of the timing for the Haswell refresh.

For starters, the 13" Early 2013 rMBP was available on the Refurb Store months ago. I know this, because I ordered one for my niece's graduation in May. Only the 15" Early 2013 rMBP is a new addition.

Also, products aren't necessarily added to the Refurb Store only when they're about to be updated. The October 2012 Mac Mini was added to the Refurb Store in January, for instance, and is without an update eight months later.

This isn't the first time that a refurbished item carried a 30-business-day shipping estimate, either. That same October 2012 Mac Mini? When it was first listed on the Refurb Store in January, it too had a 30-business-day shipping estimate. Here's what's interesting: Most people saw theirs ship within a couple days, so evidently in that case (and several others, you'll find, if you Google ""Apple" "Refurb" "30 business days"") Apple used a 30-business-day quote as a placeholder or at least a REALLY conservative estimate.

I'm curious: Has anybody ordered one of these 15" Early 2013 rMBPs on the Refurb Store? If so, is yours marked "Prepared for Shipment" or "Shipped" yet?

If the Haswell rMBP is on sale on September 18, I'd call it a coincidence, but I wouldn't blame those who think that there is something to this rumor for feeling vindicated. ;)

For what it's worth, my bet is that the Haswell rMBPs come out in October.

Best wishes to all, whether your gratification comes instantly or delayed.

UPDATE: And just like that, shipping times have been updated to 1-5 business days.

There is a slight speed bump, but many of the cooling and other quirks of the 2012 were fixed. There are many fewer build problems with the 2013, quite a few folks here upgraded. They started putting the LG SA2 screen into the 2013 about Feb-March.

Worth $250 is subjective, plenty of folks here thought so when the difference was near $500 new (many third party dealer had fire sales on the 2012 when the 2013s came out). The 2013 is a better laptop in every way.
