rMBP ghosting, likelihood of replacement?

Hello Folks,

I have a first generation 15" rMBP with screen ghosting. I've had it since I got the machine, but it didn't bother me that much (at first I didn't even realize it was a problem), but it seems to have gotten worse recently. I'm out of my one year of coverage unfortunately. I know it depends on the store, but does anyone know the likelihood of the store replacing the screen for me at no charge? A new screen is like $1000, no?

A new display is $600. And it will likely be yellow-tinted.

Definitely worth a try at your local Apple store. They know of the problem.
If that fails I'd try ringing AppleCare too.
