I use gfxCardStatus to monitor what graphics processor is running. Anything in Google Chrome would run on integrated whether it be video or anything. Yesterday gfxCardStatus was telling me the graphics processor was changing on websites that wouldn't normally change the processor. Usually Espn.com or Youtube run fine on integrated and wouldn't change to discrete. But yesterday that changed and seemingly easy tasks in chrome were making the graphics switch.

Is there something wrong on my machine or did Chrome come out with an update that caused the issue?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

chrome needs some serious optimization for retina macbook. You will have to wait for some update unfortunately, or use an alternative browser.
