rMBP magnetic latch fail

Anyone else had this problem?

My lid springs back up on closing as if the magnet has dislodged. No rattling sound. Gonna take it in, but think they will blame the icarbons cover? - id prefer not to remove it...

They'll fix it for you but I bet they'll want the cover off to do the repair.

Bingo. It could be that it's creating a gap mid-way on the laptop, causing the lid not to shut.

I had no problem with the skin. But I do have the problem with the display. Image retention and yellow screen. I suggest you to take it in.

I wonder now if he has a Samsung LCD - he might not want to send it in.

That could be a reason. He might not know the problem that is existed on MBP retina because Apple push hardware to the limit.

took it in today. The magnet was fine but as suggested above, the thin layer created by the iCarbons cover was putting pressure on the gasket and caused it to fail. Removing the cover restored functionality... I'll email them to let them know.
