Hi

I just realized while watching a movie that the left bottom corner of my screen has a minor light leak

should i call apple and have it replace while being within return days or should i keep it with the risk of getting another one worse if i exchange it ?

by the way, it's a BTO, so i might wait for a week for the new one to arrive if i decide to call

taken with my iphone

colors are not accurate as the screen does not seem black

when i look at my screen, only the bottom left is concerned, do not pay attention to the other corners on the picture

i was wondering if customer service would allow me to keep my machine until i receive the new one

or should i go to the genius bar (but still, same situation, will they keep it?)

Genius Bar would be the fastest option.

As with online, you could ask for an advanced replacement (authorize amount on a debit/credit card).

i agree GB would be the fastest because they just need to replace the panel

but will they keep the machine until panel is completely replaced ?

as for replacement by customer service, do they usually agree to order BTO machines while we keep the defective one ?

this is minor, and even I was thinking of exchanging it, but given that it has no other problems I doubt I'll do any better.

Mine looks exaggerated too, i shot it with an iphone 4 and it doesn't look as bad in real life, so if you take mine down a notch and yours a notch you still have significantly worse leak. I can't see it while watching a movie at all

went to a genius bar on sunday to have the new panel ordered (actually, the whole screen is in one piece)

shipped yesterday

came back this morning to drop the MBP

got it back in the evening

perfect :)

so happy

no more leak

the panel is a bit warmer, so now i have to find a calibrated profile, but i'm relieved

no need to call customer service for ordering a replacement...
