RMBP Monitor Interface

With the new 27" high resolution IPS monitors coming from Dell, ASUS and others. What is the best way to interface a MacBook Pro Retina to these new IPS high resolution monitors?
 
Display Port or dual link DVI-D.

These monitors have been out for a few years now so they are not really new.
 
I use a cable (DP->mini DP) like this one:
