I totally understand matte screens if you work outside. My 2007 Macbook is neigh unuseable outside. I just wondered for those who work indoors. 95% of the time I use my laptop indoors and away from glare, where the glossy screen looks fantastic.

I don't care as much about total lumens of reflection as I do about visible sharp edges and shapes. The RMBP screen may reflect fewer photons than the matte screen, but it's much harder for me to read comfortably.
