Today I was trying to open Airport Utility to change some settings on my AirPort Extreme. Airport Utility was having trouble accessing my Extreme so I decided to restart my machine. Upon restarting I got the prohibitory sign. I then booted into recovery and verified and repaired my disk just for good measure. The disk was fine. I reset NVRAM and SMC, I also ran a hardware check which came back fine. I couldn't get my machine to boot into Safe Mode though which struck me as weird. I tried to connect to my wifi which is always connected but it was immediately timing out saying I should move closer to my router. It said this about every wifi network near me. Clearly this was an error. I ended up having to restore OSX via Ethernet and it is now working fine. I am just concerned as to what could've caused this; maybe a fault with the network card or the drivers? I appreciate any feedback and insight. I have a maxed out RMBP late 2013 with the latest OSX installed. No other peripherals were connected.
