I just noticed that on the Apple Refurb site, they have dropped the price of a refurbished 15 inch rMPB to $1599 from what I thought was $1679

Are you sure it's the same model with the same configuration? You could be looking at two different rMBPs. Use refurb.me to be notified when the model you want becomes available.

It's the same model (June 2012) as I've been keeping a close eye on it for a while as well. I wonder if it will go down further after the WWDC.

I understand that it may be the same model. What about the configuration? One could have a larger drive or more RAM than another.

Just pulled the trigger on it as I've been eying it for a week now. Hopefully the new models don't give me buyer's remorse.

I have been waiting for the 13" rMBP with 8/256 to drop a little more then I will pick one up, giving my son my 2012 Base 13" with 240GBSSD.

I love the 13 units, had a 15 MBP but they are too heavy and bulky, if I need a bigger screen I just connect another monitor to it, works better for me this way.

I love the fact the rMPB 13 and 15" units have an HDMI port, then I can connect directly to any large screen tv

Seeing this is the second price drop on the retina refurb, I'm starting to feel more confident that base retina 15 with Haswell will be 8gb/512gb. Well, here's to hoping anyway...

Oh wow 2013 models have popped up on the Australian refurb store. The mid 2012 refurb prices were dropped by about 10% here a couple of weeks ago too.

Here are the prices vs retail in Australian dollars.

2.4/8GB/256GB $2119 vs $2499
2.7/16GB/512GB $2719 vs $3199

(did the 2.7 model always come with 16GB as default?)

The 2.7 2013 model always did but the 2.7 or 2.6 2012 model did not.
