Hey I just noticed this few spot started appearing on my retina screen after 1 year plus of usage.Is this dead pixel?What is the causes of it?

It is hard to tell. Looks like it is "part" of the screen and not dust. Do you have AppleCare?

Your best bet is to go to the genius bar and tell them that there is some particle under the cover glass. They should be able to replace the screen for free, however some people report having to pay for a repair like this. Your results may vary.

The picture is such, that its hard to tell if its a dead pixel. Why not take it in and have apple look at it?
