so im hoping to get two questions answered:

1. how much storage is actually left on the drives right out of the box

2. what type of flash storage are they using (samsung/toshiba etc.) or are they different like it was last year in the air.

According to iFixIt.com, they're using Samsung.

i saw the ifixit article but i was curious if they are using strictly samsung or are they using a combination of multiple different companies.

Probably a lot of different companies IMO. I don't think Samsung is able to supply everything. I could be wrong though. Remember, Tim Cook is an Operations Genius. I doubt he would stick with 1 supplier.
