I just got my MacBook Pro Retina today and it is amazing.

But I noticed that when I click the trackpad in the left side and let go I can hear the 'click release' more than when I'm clicking the right side of the trackpad. Is that normal?

I also noticed a bit of creaking noise when I push underneath the laptop - just like the bottom screws are not tightened enough. But maybe they can just tighten them in the store for me?

Would really not like to return it as the screens is amazing with no issues at all :)

I have the creak on the bottom case. This is too common. The trackpad on the other hand is not as common from what I've seen around. I physically and audibly experience a difference in every single Unibody MacBook I've ever used. They're never the same. Now if the range of sounds is not up to par for you, I think you could get a replacement/repair for the combination of trackpad faults and the creakiness.

I've heard that if you loosen and sequentially tighten the screws on the bottom case, the creaking will go away. Apparently, it's caused by improperly tightened screws/slight misfitting casing.

If it's not right (or doesn't feel quite right) then take it too an Apple Store and show them your concerns.

If they are in agreement they will either fix or replace.

Well the click 'noise' if almost the same if I have the laptop on a table / flat surface. Right now (when experiencing the noise) it is on the armrest of the couch :)

I can live with the creaking and I guess it will help if they tighten the screws a bit. In worst case couldn't they just swap the bottom plate?

Took mine up for creaking case yesterday. Took him 5 minutes and he brought it back out fixed with no creaking case. He just tightened the screws. If you have access to a local Apple Store, stop reading this and just take your computer in, it'll take an hour and you have will no longer have any problems.

Great, thanks.

Will drop by the store tomorrow - the guy told me they have a repair center in the the store, so I shouldn't be a problem:)

Were they able to fix the release click noise you experienced on the left side of the trackpad? I bought a 13" retina last week and am having the same thing, considering if I should return and buy another or was it a quick fix?

Thanks
