Hello guys,

First of all, sorry for my bad english.

So, Actually I own a Retina Macbook Pro with G750m, and I have an opportunity of buying a 2011 iMac 27" for the same price as a cinema display.

So my question is: Using the iMac as monitor (Target display mode) will the performance be the same as if I was really using a external monitor?? I'm afraid of lagging and losing performance with this feature

I use it only for work and playing League of legends (which runs perfectly on macbook)

Thank you

The performance is the exact same.

As I understand it, it's like hooking up to the imac display directly. The imac (computer portion) does not need to be running in order to use it as a display.
