I need help to set up a workstation. I have 2 Dell monitors that I want to connect to the rMBP so need some help with what all I need to get started (splitters and what not).. I have a 2013 rMBP.
Thanks for the help..They have hdmi input. Would I need a splitter or can i purchase two HDMI to Thunderbolt cables and use the two thunderbolt terminals on my rMBP?
You can just use an HDMI cable then, but resolution will be limited to 1080 vertical. If the monitor is higher than 1080 vatical res. you will need to use either DVI or MDP.
So I would need an HDMI splitter for two monitors? Would the resultant input display the same thing on the two screens or would i have a proper setup where i can smoothly transition from one display to the other..

I'm sorry, I overlooked the two monitors. You will need to outputs from the Mac. So you can use HDMI out to the HDMI on the monitor for one, then a TB to HDMI adaptor to HDMI in on the second monitor.
A splitter would just give you the same thing on both monitors.
Yes, but you would only need one of those since your Retina already has one HDMI out that could be used. This would leave your second TB out put free for other things.
Still assuming here the monitor is only 1080 vertical res.?
