not only is my appstore stuck on loading but my itunes store is too
anyone know how i can fix this?

I’ve never had any issues with Rock. I use it instead of Cydia most of the time (sometimes things aren’t available on Rock or just wont work through it).

after restoring from back up i can re jailbreak and itll be like rock was never there?

Rock is buggy and has caused many headaches in the past.

RockApp, which needs to be installed with MyWi, isn't an issue. RockExtensions, their version of mobile substrate, is what causes the conflicts. I also had all kinds of crashes with RE installed and will never load a program that requires it!

Ok, so I found a workaround for my problem.

The first app I always install is Pkgbackup. I was about to do a restore of the phone so I could get Cydia working again and completely remove Rock when I went into Pkgbackup and thought I'd try restoring Cydia source icon and Cydia Community Sources.

It took about 5-7 minutes to run the restore, but by god, IT WORKED! Once the restore was complete in Pkgbackup, I exited it, tried to open Cydia and it opened right up and updated my sources! I then went into packages and removed Rock completely.

It seems to be running normally and everything is working again and, most importantly, that damn Rock is off my phone! I'm staying away from that stupid thing from now on.

This is my fourth iPhone and I've had rock
on all of them and I have never had a problem
directly related to rock.

The interface on rock is so much nicer and you can
actually go on there website to retrieve your password
and account info.
I forgot which account I used on Cydia so I emailed them almost a week ago and I have still not heard a reply! I don't want to pay for an app I already bought again.

Cydia is great but needs a major interface update, not just for apps but for storing license information.

I use rock all the time on my 3g and ive never had a problem, its crashed maybe once or twice but so has cydia.. and the backup option is great and really easy to use. and much much quicker than cydia

What about paid cydia apps after a total restore? Do I have to rebuy them?

Nah you can link them to your facebook account or google account. I have my cydia apps installed on all my iPhones and my iPad all using the same google account and I only had to pay once.

I wouldn't say either app is "great". They're both buggy, usually barely work on the best of days and should be the dictionary definition of "slapped together at the last second", but Rock has been considerably more solid for me.
