Rogers/Fido iphone 3GS

Looks like the websites have been updating with the "coming soon" page... however no pre-order information is available, makes me think there wont be one. Looks like they are doing the 6GB/$30 as well.

I do have a couple of questions for you all on Fido/Rogers.


Given that I want to get the following, any idea what my cheapest plan would be on either carrier?

- 6gb/$30
- Visual Voice Mail
- Approx 250-300 texts

iPhone Value Pack+VVmail 15.00
Internet option / 6 GB 30.00
9-1-1 Emergency Access Fee 0.50
System access fee 6.95

I think the texts are included in the data... I can't remember. I know I've only been dinged when I get a premium text.

So in the end, I look at an avg of $98 - 100 a month.

$75 before fee's... looks pretty solid to me, although if I could do a 3gigs/$15 that would be wicked.

Rogers was about $10 more expensive, and you got less texts I believe... Think i'm going to go with Fido.

I'm on Fido too, and you can jimmy that plan a bit to save some cash.

Call and get them to put you on the same plans, but the "new" versions of them ... you can save the $7.50 on 911 and System Access.

iPhone 3G S line up

Since there won't be a preorder system, how long do you think line ups will be for the iPhone 3G s in stores? & How many phones do you think stores will get? Can you tell I'm excited?!?! 😀

anybody know what the deal is with upgrading to the iPhone 3Gs through rogers is yet?

i called last week and the woman said i have to pay $699 for a 32GB version and i won't be able to get it launch day because i have to buy it through the lost/stolen plan, where they send it to my house. this sounds wrong.

i called today and the person said nothing is certain yet - they may announce something prior to June 19th where an early upgrade fee will apply (something like $399/$499 for current 3G owners).

what have people been hearing?
